Sunny Deol Talks About His Son, Rajveer Deol's Dyslexia: 'He Had Issues With Kids At School But...'

Bollywood actor, Sunny Deol opened up about his younger son, Rajveer Deol's dyslexia and revealed how he never let his shortcomings define his life.

Sunny Deol is one of the most talented actors in the Hindi film industry. Following his father, Dharmendra's footsteps, the actor made his debut in Bollywood, however, he carved his name in the hearts of millions on his own. Sunny has worked in popular films like Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Indian, Ghayal, Ghatak: Lethal, Border and many more. And now, after 22 years, the actor has yet again spread the magic of his exceptional acting with the film, Gadar 2. After two generations of the Deol family ruling the film industry, now, the third generation is all set to take the family's legacy ahead as Sunny's younger son, Rajveer Deol made his acting debut with the film, Dono.

In an interview with Brut India, Sunny Deol opened up about her younger son, Rajveer Deol and revealed that he suffered from dyslexia in childhood. The doting father added that despite having problems, he never let his challenges define his life. Sunny also added that Rajveer was a naughty kid, yet he had his own way of overcoming his problems. Adding that Rajveer was always full of life, Sunny said:

"Coming to Rajveer, he was a naughty boy, he was a boy who was always full of life, and he had his own way of handling certain shortcomings. The way he was standing everything, from school to professors, so I mean yeah, you know, unfortunately, he was dyslexic, so obviously issues used to be difficult."

Further, in the same conversation, Sunny added that Rajveer had problems in school because he was dyslexic. But fortunately, he and his wife, Pooja, were aware of his problem and knew how to handle it. The actor also mentioned that he had issues with other kids at the school, but he was always focused on his work. In his words:

"But it was fortunate that we knew what it was and also tackled it pretty well. So, obviously, I am sure he had issues with all the kids at school. But bachas have to handle themselves. That's a growing-up journey, basically. So, I have seen him as a boy, who has always been focused, determined, wanting to do what he wants to do and he has taken any shortcomings so seriously."

Sunny Deol revealed what advice he gave to his son, Rajveer

Earlier, in an interview with Lallantop, Sunny revealed the advice he received from his father, Dharmendra and then passed on to his son, Rajveer. Talking about the same, the actor stated that he advised his son to always follow his heart. Adding that films are an art for his family, Sunny said:

"I gave him the advice that my father gave me, ‘Whatever you do, do it from your heart and do what you love.’ We take films as an art and not look at them commercially. What is a star? If your film works, you are a star."

When Sunny revealed he was dyslexic in childhood

This is not the first time Sunny has made some shocking revelations about his family. Earlier, in a conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia, Sunny opened up about his childhood. Talking about the same, the actor revealed that he had dyslexia in his younger days. The actor also mentioned that he used to get beaten up as people didn't understand his problem, rather, they thought that he was not good at studies. Elaborating more about it, Sunny said:

"Mai dyslexic tha. Par us waqat kisi ko kya pata dyslexic kya hota hai hamari umar me, that time. Thapad padte the duffer hai padai ni aandi. Abhi bhi main likhna padne me woh ho jata hu like words mereko kuch aur dikhte the. Mujhe takleef hoti hai isliye main kitni baar kahi jau bhi to main jyada bolne se initially, suru mein kahi mujhe mic pakda dete mai sochunga ki bolu kya."
