Sonam Kapoor Opens Up About Dealing With Postpartum Weight, Says, 'I Just Don't Feel Like Myself'

Sonam Kapoor is one of the most stunning actresses in Bollywood. Apart from her films, the diva is known for her glamorous and unique style statement. Moreover, Sonam is a complete family person, who loves spending time with her closed ones. She is a doting wife to her husband, Anand Ahuja and a loving mother to their son, Vayu Kapoor Ahuja. Just like every other woman, Sonam too dealt with several bodily changes during and after her pregnancy. Recently, she opened up about the same and talked about how she didn't follow any crazy diet to lose weight.

Sonam Kapoor on not following a crazy diet plan for reducing postpartum weight

In an interview with Grazia India, the new mom, Sonam Kapoor opened up about her pregnancy and revealed how she dealt with the postpartum weight gain. Talking about the same, the actress revealed that society has unreal expectations for mothers, especially celebrity moms, when it comes to body weight and appearance. Sonam mentioned that she too, sometimes does not feel like herself, and that hampers her self-confidence. Elaborating more about it, Sonam said:

"I’m not scared of anything in that sense, ageing or anything else but I just don’t feel like myself. If I’m shooting, I send my measurements in advance, I don’t want to come back feeling like I’m not fitting into these tiny clothes, it plays a huge havoc on your self-confidence."

In the same conversation, Sonam also revealed that she is still breastfeeding her son and she would continue to do for atleast a year. Talking about the importance of proper nutrients for a mother, who is breastfeeding, Sonam mentioned proper rest and food are important for new moms. She also stated that although she is taking care of her health by exercising, but she is not following any crazy diet chart to lose weight. In her words:

"I’m not back to what I used to be and I’m not even pushing myself – I’m still breastfeeding, and I hope to continue for at least a year. Your body needs the food, rest, and energy while you’re doing that. I’m not on any crazy diet, I’m exercising – I exercised through my pregnancy – and being healthy. I took care of myself through my pregnancy and I’m going to continue doing that and not check the scales."

When Sonam talked about normal delivery

On November 13, 2022, Sonam had taken to her Instagram handle and posted a couple of IG stories. The actress penned a series of notes and opened up about her natural delivery and gentle birthing procedure. Talking about the same, Sonam revealed that she had a quick birth and has been breastfeeding easily. She also talked about her pre-natal journey and revealed how she took the help of a gentle birth method to have a natural delivery.
