Sonam Kapoor Ahuja Reveals She Had A Natural Delivery, Also Talks About Breastfeeding Son, Vayu

Bollywood actress, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja talked about her natural delivery and the gentle birth method she followed.

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja Reveals She Had A Natural Delivery, Also Talks About Breastfeeding Son, Vayu

Bollywood actress, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja revealed she had a natural delivery. The actress also shared her breastfeeding experience. For those who don't know, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Anand Ahuja embraced parenthood bliss with the arrival of their first child, whom they have named, Vayu Kapoor Ahuja. The actress often shares glimpses of her son on her IG handle.

Sonam Kapoor got married to Anand Ahuja on May 8, 2018. Their wedding was a grand affair and their wedding hashtag, 'Everyday Phenomenal Couple' still trends on the internet. Sonam announced the new phase of her pregnancy in March 2022. She had shared a picture with her hubby, Anand while flaunting her baby bump in a black-coloured monokini.

On November 13, 2022, Sonam took to her Instagram handle and posted a couple of IG stories. She penned a series of notes and bared her heart out on her natural delivery and the gentle birthing procedure. She revealed that she had a quick birth and has been breastfeeding easily. She also talked about the steps she took to ensure she had no stretchmarks. 

Sonam also talked about her prenatal journey and how she ensured that she had as little intervention as possible. One of her note can be read as:

"My pre-natal journey was quite different. I was very sure I wanted to have as natural a journey as I could that would lead to a natural delivery with as little intervention as possible. For that I decided to take help of ‘gentle birth method’ with Dr Gowra Motha. She had written a lovely book called Gentle Birth Method that explains how to deal with the prenatal journey."

Sonam also thanked her doctor and how she had followed her method blindly. She revealed that had tried to find gentler and kinder method for her delivery. She penned:

"She was a practicing ob-gyn (obstetrician-gynecologist) in London’s NHS and was disillusioned by the crude and detached way mothers were dealt with. So, she tried to find a gentler and kinder method. She uses a lot of Ayurvedic practices, creative healing and homeopathy. I’ve followed her blindly. I’ve had a natural birth thanks to all her teachings and I’m breastfeeding pretty easily.

On November 13, 2022, Sonam posted glimpses of her baby boy's nursery in Mumbai. The nursery was decorated with wooden furniture and ample of natural lights. made it more lively. In the centre, we can see baby Vayu's crib. On the right, a wooden table was kept, and we can a diaper changing station. 

Another highlight of the room is the forest-themed wallpaper with elephants, trees and birds on the fall ceiling. We can also spot Vayu's cutesy outfit. Alongside it, Sonam penned a thank you note to all the people who helped in curating her son's nursery. She also thanked her mother, Sunita Kapoor for helping her. An excerpt from her lone note could be read as: 

"@dinky_nirh  curated absolutely everything that I needed for Vayu and made sure I had absolutely every small thing that goes into rearing a new born. My friend @sukeena founder of @luminaireco who put together my Maternitiy wardrobe and then Vayus wardrobe. Thanks to you my baby is the chicest little boy around. Thank you @organisewithease for setting up everything in the nursery and indulging my OCD. Most importantly I’d like to thank my mama @kapoor.sunita who moved heaven and earth for everything. I love you mama."
