Saumya had talked about her motherhood journey in a media interaction lately and was quoted as saying, “It's finally happening. I am pregnant. It has been an overwhelming ride and I think that it will be fascinating, with its ups and downs. I feel like I am walking on the moon on some days, and scared and nervous on the rest. It's magical what my body can do - create a new life. I feel empowered and beautiful these days.”

Soon after delivering her son, the hard-working actress is back on track with her fitness routine. Sadly, she was trolled for doing so and got targeted for working out within just 2 months of her delivery. And now, Saumya talked about her fitness regimen with the Hindustan Times. She has also revealed that feeding baby left her with backaches and neck aches.

Here’s what Saumya has shared, “My mid-back was hurting a lot as breast feeding 10 to 12 times a day was quite exhausting. Sitting with the baby for half an hour every time to feed him, gave me backaches and neck aches too. I am taking baby steps with my exercise regimen. I feel I am not back in the shape I would like to be in. Yet, I feel, I have come a long way post-delivery. I am getting there. I have been consistent with my workouts rather than doing too much right now. I would recommend exercise to every woman post-delivery, and not just celebrities.” (Also Read: Sonali Bendre Was Shattered But Never Thought About Death When She Learnt Of Her Cancer)

She further went on to add, “I am not advocating the aesthetics as much as I am advocating the real benefits of exercising. You should develop and strengthen your back and core muscles because you need that while holding your baby. I started with Pilates, as it is the best form to develop core strength. I am also doing aerial yoga for stretches, my aches and pains. It is also helping me with balancing and posture. I am working on my shoulder and arm strength.”

Earlier, in an interview, Saumya had talked about her post-pregnancy work plans, and had stated, “I know there will be a lot of questions about my work plan, but there is a place and right time for those answers, right now it is about celebrating and taking all your good wishes for me. Of course, I plan to continue working and acting as long as I live. Hate to give this explanation though, I don’t think being a mother makes any woman hold back her passion, dream or work, it only empowers her more. What I can assure everyone is that I will keep on trying to the raise the bar for myself and hopefully to not disappoint the viewers with my work.” (Checkout: Neetu Kapoor Shares 'Amazing Feeling In Lows' Selfie With Rishi Kapoor And Ranbir Kapoor)

Talking about her pregnancy journey, Saumya had told Pinkvilla, “It's quite a big change in my life. It was quite a tough process as I was working throughout my pregnancy. I began not so smoothly. My first trimester was quite bad. But yeah, I picked up. In fact, I was exercising a lot, for 2 hours a day during my third trimester. That kept me going and I was much better. I genuinely feel it's quite an achievement. It's quite overwhelming.”

Saumya had also revealed once that this baby wasn’t planned, and they were nervous of becoming parents without planning. Saumya had remarked, “We are going to be fun parents. We were very nervous as it was not a planned baby. We were nervous as we will be becoming parents without planning for it. I was very nervous also because we are very sweet, little people so we were very scared of bringing a new life. It's a huge responsibility. But now, we both got very excited because we are going to have fun with him; we are going to be fun parents, and we are going to travel with him. And of course, we decided that how he will be with both of us so that both of us can work. I mean, I plan to work soon. So, I and my husband mutually decided how to manage on the days I am working and the days he is working. We have to be partners in parenting.” (Don't Miss: Pooja Bhatt Opens Up About Her Sister, Alia Bhatt's Relationship With Beau, Ranbir Kapoor)
