Satish Kaushik's Death: His Manager, Santosh Reveals Heartbreaking Details, Recalls His Last Words

In a recent conversation, Satish Kaushik's manager, Santosh Rai opened up about what happened on the night of the late actor's demise and revealed his last words.

Popular actor-director, Satish Kaushik's demise came as a massive shock to the entire nation. For the unversed, the late actor passed away due to a cardiac arrest on March 9, 2023, at the age of 66. Satish was in Delhi when he took his last breath, and now his family has been inconsolable ever since. In a recent interaction, Satish Kaushik's manager, Santosh Rai revealed what exactly happened on that unfateful night.

Satish Kaushik had difficulty in breathing before his demise

In a conversation with the ETimes, Santosh Rai revealed that Satish Kaushik finished his dinner at about 8:30 pm, and since they had an early flight to Mumbai at 8:50 am on March 9, 2023, so the manager went to sleep in the adjoining room. However, at around 11 pm, Satish called him and asked him to fix his Wifi password as he wanted to see his upcoming directorial, Kaagaz 2, for editing purposes. Adding that Satish started watching the movie at 11:30 pm, Santosh added:

"At 12:05 am he started calling out my name very loudly. I came running and asked him, 'What happened, sir? Kyun chilla rahe ho? Why didn't you call me on phone instead?' He told me, 'Listen, I am having difficulty in breathing. Please take me to a doctor'. Immediately, he and I went towards the car and he sat down."

Satish Kaushik's last words were 'Main marna nahi chahta'

Revealing what happened in the car, Santosh Rai mentioned that Satish Kaushik's chest pain increased on the way. The manager also shared Satish's last words and recalled his last conversation with the actor. Sharing that Satish asked his manager to look after his daughter, Vanshika, he said:

"As we started and went a little ahead, his chest pain increased, and he said, 'Jaldi chalo hospital'. Then, he put his head on my shoulder and said, 'Santosh, main marna nahin chahta, mujhe bacha lo'. We reached the hospital (Fortis Hospital) in eight minutes as the road was empty maybe because of Holi, but by the time we entered the premises, he was unconscious. He also told me a few more things in the car. He held me and said, 'Mujhe Vanshika ke liye jeena hai. Mujhe lagta hai main nahi bachunga. Shashi aur Vanshika ka khayyal rakhna'."

Satish Kaushik wanted his manager to inform his friend, Anupam Kher, first if anything happens to him

Santosh revealed that the actor had stopped responding and did not stir even after he shook him. Sharing what happened in the hospital, he revealed that a big team of doctors was pressed into service, who after some time, told them that Satish Kaushik was not responding. Santosh added that it was 12:36 am by then, so he called up Satish's relatives who stay in Delhi. Recalling the late actor's wife, Sashi Kaushik's reaction to the devastating news, Santosh shared:

"I called Sashi ji at 12:40 am. I told her that he is in a serious condition. She said, 'Please don't say such things'. After that, I called Anupam Kher ji. Satish ji used to tell me if anything happens or anything is required for him, I should first call Anupam ji and Anil Kapoor ji. My call to Anupam ji went unanswered. Obviously, he must have been fast asleep. So, I informed his work-person and told him to inform Anupam ji anyhow. And, Anupam ji soon called back. Anupam ji and Boney Kapoor ji rushed to Satish ji's residence and they were there in just few minutes. They stayed on till the next day."

Satish Kaushik's daughter, Vanshika has gone silent after her father's demise

When Santosh was asked if Satish Kaushik had any heart ailment, he gave a negative response. Talking about the late actor's love for his darling daughter, Vanshika, he shared that she has gone silent after her father's demise. He added:

"No. He had asthma, high blood pressure and diabetes. His asthma was not acute, though. I must tell you here that Satish ji wanted to see Vanshika grow up and he wanted to see her marriage. The father and daughter were extremely close to each other. Vanshika wept a lot when his mortal remains were brought to Mumbai. Now, she has gone silent and is not saying a word. Satish ji's wife is weeping continuously. There are many friends and relatives at their house trying to calm her, but she cannot stop crying."

Satish Kaushik missed out on his fitness schedule for 15 days before his death

Revealing why Satish Kaushik had gone to Delhi, Santosh shared that the late actor wanted to celebrate Holi with his friends in Delhi. He also added that Satish had been travelling a lot for the past 15 days, and he had visited Guwahati, Jodhpur, and Delhi. His travel schedules led to him missing out on hitting the gym and even being able to get adequate sleep. Talking about his tragic demise, Santosh said:

"This is the second ghastly tragedy in their family. Satish ji and Shashi ji lost their son Shanoo when he was just 5 or 6 years old. Vanshika wasn't born then. Shanoo drank water a bit quickly I guess and it went into his windpipe. He choked. Shanoo ke baahut saal baad, Vanshika paida hui; she used to video-call her father Satish ji every hour. And now this... Dekho kya se kya ho gaya."

On the work front, Satish was last seen in the film, Chhatriwali, in 2023 alongside Rakul Preet Singh and Sumeet Vyas, among others.
