Sania Mirza has been helming the headlines for a long time now, due to her personal life. For the unversed, the tennis sensation was earlier married to Pakistani cricketer, Shoaib Malik. However, it was a few months back that she gave khula to him, and the latter got married for a third time to Pakistani actress, Sana Javed. For the unversed, according to Islamic laws, khula gives women the right to unilaterally divorce their husbands.

Sania Mirza talks about facing mother’s guilt, expressed feeling unable to do enough for her son

Recently, Sania Mirza was chosen as the team mentor for the team of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Women’s Premiere League. Attending an event for the same, the tennis star sat down for a candid interaction with IANS, wherein she spoke about how she had been managing her professional career as well as her responsibilities as a mother. She remarked how she likes the term of being a working mother over just a mother. Moreover, Sania added still feeling the pangs of mother’s guilt for her son, Izhaan. In her words:

“I love being a mother, but I love being a working mother more. I have to leave him back in Hyderabad, I have to be here…the mother’s guilt is real. And no matter how much we give, we always feel like we’re not doing enough. It’s not easy, it’s challenging.”

Sania talks about balancing both her career and motherhood

Moving forth in the conversation, Sania Mirza remarked that motherhood has been the most rewarding journey for her. She added how for the longest time, she tried to strike a balance between her career and her responsibilities as a mother. However, Sania added how her family has been her biggest support in such tough times, who has helped her throughout. She said:

“I think being a mother has been one of the greatest honours and pleasures of my life. So for me, my work and everything, I was just trying to finding that balance and it is challenging at times. And that’s where your family comes into play, your support system comes into play, who help you.”

Sania Mirza talked about how motherhood made her selfless

In one of her earlier interviews with Firstpost, Sania Mirza opened up about how motherhood has evolved her personality over the time and made her more selfless. The tennis legend added how having her son gave her the biggest reality check in life, which also made her welcome certain adjustments. Moreover, Sania revealed that she always has deemed to keep her son, Izhaan above every other priority of her life.

Sania Mirza’s son, Izhaan was mentally disturbed after his father's third marriage

Previously, eminent Pakistani journalist, Naeem Hanif spilled beans on the interaction he had with Sania Mirza, after her ex-husband, Shoaib Malik announced his third marriage. He reported that the tennis star’s son, Izhaan was quite mentally disturbed after his parents’ separation, and he stopped going to school since kids at school bullied him about his father's multiple marriages. Moreover, the journalist claimed that as a result, Sania Mirza had to get her son back to India from Dubai, since the young boy no longer wanted to stay there.
