It was in 2002 when a bold and beautiful lady named Sameera Reddy made her acting debut in the film, Maine Dil Tujhko Diya and instantly caught everyone’s attention. From her sizzling looks to her innocent eyes, many dubbed her as the next big sex symbol in Bollywood. What followed was a series of movies like Darna Mana Hai, Musafir, Taxi Number 9211, Race, De Dana Dan and Aakrosh that made her a household name across the nation.

No doubt, Sameera Reddy is one of the most beautiful ladies that has ever graced the big screen. However, in her recent interview, she shockingly revealed that she also suffered a lot because of the ‘eye candy’ phase in Bollywood. In a conversation with Mid-Day, the gorgeous actress, Sameera Reddy opened up about the time when almost everyone in the Bollywood industry was opting for plastic surgeries, bone structure and other cosmetic surgeries. She said:

"I think there was a crazy phase about 10 years ago where everybody was getting plastic surgery, breast enhancement surgery, change nose or bone structure."

In the same interview, Sameera Reddy shared that ten years ago, there was a trend in the industry where people were going to any length to achieve B-town’s ‘ideal beauty standards’. Opening up about that traumatic time, Sameera admitted that even she started doubting herself and starved herself to lose weight. Not only this, the actress also admitted that she used to survive on a single piece of idli, as losing weight was much needed for her if she wished to make it into showbiz. Recalling the same, Sameera said:

"I think there was a crazy phase about 10 years ago where everybody was getting plastic surgery, breast enhancement surgery, change nose or bone structure. I had to always pad my chest and was told to get a breast enhancement job done. Many times, I would think, ‘Should I? Is this the norm?’ because it was so openly spoken about and as an actor I questioned if I had to do it."

Further in the interview, Sameera Reddy admitted that there were times when she had started doubting herself after she was continuously being told to get breast enhancement surgery done. However, she stuck to her decision not to opt for the same and admitted that she was glad that she stood her ground back then. The actress added that she wasn’t judging people, who had gone for cosmetic surgery, and it was just like she wasn’t comfortable doing that. She explained:

"But I didn’t and I am so grateful to God I didn’t because today I wouldn’t have been comfortable about it. There are many people who choose corrective surgery and it is their choice. If it makes them happy, I say live and let live, who are we to judge."
