Saba is jewellery designer by profession and the mutawalli (Chief Trustee) of the Auqaf-e-Shahi (Royal Trust) established by the princely state of Bhopal as a royal charitable endowment. It is very rare to see Saba in parties and get-togethers as she had preferred to stay away from the limelight, but now, thanks to social media, we often get to see her pictures on her profile. On March 4, 2021, Saba had taken to her Instagram handle and had remembered her parents, Sharmila ji and Mansoor ji's wedding day. Sharing the monochrome wedding picture, Saba had written, "Remembrance! Parents Wedding day. A wedding. I definitely didn't attend! But I wish I had Mahshallah."

A few moments back, Saba took to her IG handle and shared a beautiful throwback picture of her parents, Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi to wish her fans on Ramadan. In the picture, Sharmila ji looked gorgeous as always, while Mansoor ji looked dapper while the two posed for a beautiful picture. Along with the picture, Saba wrote, “Ramadan Mubarak...and Shubho Noboborsho to everyone! It's not one or the other... We don't have to choose. Faith is personal and life is a celebration. We are all #unique.”

After the death of her father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi in 2011, Saba was named as the custodian of the royal trust of Bhopal. She, as mutawalli of Aukaf-e-Shahi Trust, takes care of the properties in Bhopal and Saudi Arabia, worth Rs. 1000 crore. While Saif had taken the Nawab of Pataudi title after their father’s death, Saba had chosen to be the Chief Trustee of the Bhopal Trust. She is the first woman in the country to be the head of Auqaf-e-Shahi since the end of the princely era. Other than this, she also looks after her mother’s Rs. 2700 crore worth property.

In 2009, at the launch of the jewellery store, Opulence, for which Saba Ali Khan had designed a collection that Soha Ali Khan had showcased on the ramp, the Pataudi sisters had spoken about their family in an interview with HT City. Though Saif Ali Khan and Soha get along really well as they stay in the same city, Saba too, has her special moments with him. Saba had said, “We are very proud of our brother, he has accomplished a lot in his life.” However, Soha had described Saif as “adventurous… giving our parents headaches.”
