Global icon, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is not just a brilliant actress but is also known for her daredevil attitude and outspoken personality. The former beauty queen, who won the Miss World 2000 pageant, went on to become a prominent name in the world of acting. Fast forward to today, PeeCee is one of the highest-paid Bollywood actresses who made a name for herself on international platforms as well.

Currently, Priyanka Chopra has been busy promoting her new web series, Citadel, and her upcoming romantic movie, Love Again. In an interaction with SiriusXM’s show, The Howard Stern Show, the actress also opened up about her personal struggles and recalled the time when she got a botched nose surgery. She revealed that her surgery had gone wrong and shared how it left her devastated and depressed. She said:

"It was a dark phase."

Priyanka Chopra reveals her botched nose surgery caused a deep depression

In the conversation, Priyanka Chopra opened up about the removal of a polyp in her nasal cavity, which went terribly wrong. Talking about how her botched nose surgery almost ended her career prematurely, PeeCee shared that the doctors advised her to get a polypectomy done, but the process altered her face's appearance in a way that she had not anticipated. Recalling the horrifying time, Priyanka said:

"This thing happens, and my face looks completely different, and I went into a deep, deep depression." 

Priyanka Chopra thought her career was over before it started

Since Priyanka's career in Bollywood had just started, she was fired from three movies after her botched nose surgery. In the same interview, the actress shared that at that time she believed that it was the end of her acting career. She added that the situation got so bad that she didn't feel like leaving her house. However, Priyanka revealed that it was her dad, Dr Ashok Chopra, who convinced her to go for corrective surgery. She added:

"I was terrified of that, but he was like, 'I will be in the room with you! He held my hands through it and helped me build back my confidence."

PeeCee appreciates director, Anil Sharma, for not cutting her out of his film

However, further in the conversation, Priyanka Chopra also credited Bollywood filmmaker, Anil Sharma, for helping her get back to acting by offering her a supporting role. Talking about the same, she revealed that though at first she was supposed to play the leading actress in a film, the filmmaker was kind enough to give her a small part after her botched nose surgery. In her words:

“I was supposed to play this lead, and I was shifted to a supporting character. That filmmaker was very kind. He, while the tide was against me, said, ‘It will be a small part but give it your all.’ And I did.”

On the work front, Priyanka Chopra was last seen in the web series, Citadel.
