Mona Singh's Ex, Karan Oberoi Talks About Their Breakup: 'She Wanted To Focus On Her Career'

Television actress-turned-Bollywood diva, Mona Singh has a glorious start to her career with her super hit show, Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahi. Her role as 'Jassi' redefined beauty for many women in India in the early 2000s, when 'fair skin' and 'to look' a certain way ruled the industry. However, not many know that while shooting for the show, Mona Singh fell in love with her co-actor, Karan Oberoi. The latter was head-over-heels in love with Mona, and even wanted to marry her. Recently, the actor revealed the reason behind their breakup.

Karan Oberoi opened up about his breakup with Mona Singh

Recently, in an interview with Siddharth Kanan, Karan Oberoi talked about his relationship with Mona Singh. The actor revealed that when they work with someone together for eighteen hours, they are to fall in love, but they had different paths. When Siddharth asked if he wanted to get married to her, she wasn't ready. To which, Karan stated that she wanted to focus on her career. He said:

"Jassi was a steller show, she was a national icon. Us time mereko samjh nahi aata tha. Aaj smjh aata hai ki ki she was a rising one."

Karan added that when a person is young, they don't understand the other side, and they think why the other person doesn't want to get married. He said:

"Jab aap chote hote ho toh sochte ho kyu yaar mere mein kuch kami hai jo shaadi nahi karna chahte. Aisa nahi tha, she wanted to focus on her career."

When Siddharth probed further if he was hurt after facing Mona's rejection during that time. To this, Karan said yes, and he cannot deny that it left him hurt. The thing affected him, but it doesn't describe him. He stated that he has lived a happy life in a bubble. However, his breakup with Mona worked as a trauma, which transformed him and turned him into a better 'writer'. It made him realise about other's pain.

When Mona Singh talked about seeing success after twenty years 

Talking about Mona's professional life, she had a fantastic 2023 with three superhit releases including, Made In Heaven 2, Kaala Paani and Kafas. The year 2024 is also action-packed for the gorgeousness. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Mona talked about revamping her wardrobe and stated how she was being invited for round table conversations. She also expressed that she had seen this kind of madness in 2003. She was quoted as saying:

"I am grateful for 2023; it has been a blessing. I am experiencing this high exactly after 20 years; I saw this kind of madness in 2003. I am very excited for 2024 as there is a great lineup of shoots and releases."
