Jaya Bachchan has been garnering a lot of attention for her unapologetic opinions and bold revelations on her granddaughter, Navya Nanda’s podcast, What The Hell Navya 2. For the unversed, the show features the three ladies of the Bachchan clan, Jaya Bachchan, Navya Nanda and Shweta Bachchan interact informally on various topics. From diverse opinions to unheard family revelations, the trio have created quite a stir on internet. And something similar happened yet again.

The recent episode of What The Hell Navya 2 featured the three Bachchan ladies discussing the conflict between experience and age. The host, Navya Nanda shared her belief that experience only comes with age, as and when a person matures. She added that now, she too, is able to decide wisely in difficult situations, with all her experiences so far. However, hearing her perspective, Navya’s nani, Jaya Bachchan corrected her midway and remarked that knowledge and experience aren’t the same. She further expressed:

“Iss tarah ke soch ko apne andar laana aur iss tarah ke soch ke upar kaam karna uske liye experience ki zaroorat nahi. Woh dil aur dimaag ki baat hoti hai. Aur aap jo keh rahe ho aur jo aapko kehrahe hai unse kaho keep quiet. Yeh sab Baatein aap sunke ansuna kar dijiye.”

Jaya Bachchan claimed she got less recognition for the work she has done so far

In a previous episode of the podcast, Jaya Bachchan discussed the matter of professional failure with her daughter, Shweta and granddaughter, Navya Nanda. The veteran actress stated that she feels she got less recognition for the kind of work she has done so far. She remarked that as an artist, she feels it is unfair. In her words:

“When an artiste doesn’t get recognition, it feels really bad. Sometimes, I think we did so much path-breaking, unique, redefining work, but the amount of recognition–not appreciation–one should have gotten, we don’t get that. So, then I assume it’s my fate. I won’t say I never got affected with that. I did feel bad, I felt it was unfair.”

Navya Nanda revealed why she chose to start her podcast series

Previously, in an interaction with Aditya Bhatt, Navya Nanda reacted on the immense success she received over launching her own podcast show, What The Hell Navya 2. She recalled that the very idea behind starting off something so unique. She remarked that it stemmed from the informal interactions she used to have with her mother and grandmother during lockdown. She said:

“During the lockdown, I lived with my entire family. So my naani and my mom and I used to sit a lot during the lockdown cause that’s all we could really do and have conversations and conversations we hadn’t had before. You know sometimes you can live with people your whole life and not have certain conversations. We felt that there was so much to talk about that we hadn’t. And as we were having those conversations we felt that the topics and themes we were touching on were very relevant to what’s happening in today’s social context.”
