Amid everyone going gaga over each of the players' performances at the ICC T20 World Cup, let us talk about the prize money the winning team might receive. As per several media portals, the prize money of the winning team of the ICC T20 World Cup is around USD 2.45 million. This means team India would receive an approximate amount of Rs. 20.42 crore from the International Cricket Council, for their tremendous win.

Meanwhile, the runner-up, South Africa, reportedly received an amount of USD 1.28 million, which, when converted to INR, approximately becomes Rs. 10.67 crore. On the other hand, the other two teams, England and Afghanistan, might receive USD 7,87,500 each for making it to the semi-finals, which in INR is approximately Rs. 6.56 crore.

As Rohit Sharma was knocked out by just making nine runs, each Indian had their fingers crossed with the hope that Virat Kohli would play a tremendous innings. Well, the 'GOAT' (greatest of all time) has yet again proved his mettle as he made 76 runs in just 59 balls, thereby helping the team to build up a challenging score of 176.
