Hina Khan Retrospects Her Decision To Quit Her Debut Show, 'YRKKH', Remarks, 'It Wasn't That Nice'

Hina Khan has been one of the most captivating actresses in Tinseltown. She is best remembered for her stint in the hit serial, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, wherein she essayed the female lead named ‘Akshara’. Her flawless performance and stunning beauty not only gave her household fame, but also made her an iconic personality in no time. Considering the show to be her debut performance, Hina’s performance on the daily soap won her several national and international awards and accolades. However, it was in 2016 when she chose to quit the show and left her audiences shocked.

Hina Khan reveals the reason behind her decision to leave Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

In a recent interaction with Galatta Plus, Hina Khan talked about the reason behind her decision to step down from her iconic debut show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, that gave her unparalleled fame and recognition. She contradicted to the show’s producer, Rajan Shahi’s claims that her contract was terminated after she started to interfere with the script and hinder the shooting. While Hina didn’t divulge details about what actually went wrong, she addressed that all in all, her experience wasn’t really nice or pleasant. Adding how she would never comment negatively about her breakthrough show, Hina said:

“I have that respect and regard. I don't know why is it happening from the other side, time and again. I just don't get it. Not that I would like to talk about it and I don't want to. These guys (makers of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai) have given me my first break. I have that respect and regard for them. I worked for years but it did not end on a good note. It wasn't like we would not even see each other. But it wasn't that nice, pleasant. That's okay. It happens. Time heals everything. At least, time has healed me completely. I have no objections now.”

Hina shares how her father was extremely upset after she left YRKKH

Continuing with her line of thought, Hina Khan then remembered how her father was extremely upset over her decision to leave such a magnanimous show like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. She revealed how her dad asked her to make a promise that she would never in her life speak anything ill about her debut show, that gave her everything. In her words:

“I remember my father was extremely sad and right after I left the show, he took a promise from me. He said, ‘Promise me you will never speak ill about anyone from that show'. He said that. I stick to that. Now, he is not here. How can I break that promise? I am not going to say anything.”

When YRKKH’s producer, Rajan Shahi claimed Hina Khan refused to support show’s new leads

Earlier, in a press byte during a media conference, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’s producer, Rajan Shahi made a shocking claim and revealed why Hina Khan was terminated from the show. He remarked that the actress refused to support the then-upcoming new female lead of the show, Shivangi Joshi. He revealed that Hina wasn’t happy with the plotline shifting towards Shivangi, and as a result tried to interfere and alter the script a couple of times.

Hina talked about skipping her attendance at the Cannes Film Festival 2024

Previously, while interacting with News18 Showsha, Hina Khan divulged the reason due to which she didn’t mark her presence at the 77th Cannes Film Festival 2024. The actress, who had graced the event twice before, clarified how she doesn’t wish to go there just for the heck of it, and instead prefers to have a substantial reason for promoting there. She said:

“On this international carpet, people showcase high fashion and glam but at the same time, the festival is known for films. If I get an opportunity again, I would love to go. I don’t want to go just for the heck of it. Maybe I’ll go again in a couple of years. I might also go there for a brand.”
