Bride Dons A Gujarati 'Gharchola' For Her Pre-Wedding Festivities, Stuns In Diamonds On Her 'Shaadi'

A wedding is a union of two souls, which unites two families. It is the most important day in a couple's life as they become each other's forever. And that is the reason why everyone wants their wedding day to be a memorable one. In India, the big fat wedding culture is a passe, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but still, a soon-to-be-married couple makes sure to turn their wedding festivities into a magical affair.

Over the years, we have seen many brides donning pretty wedding outfits. Recently, the craze for designer wear has gone down as more and more brides are getting back to their roots. While some are opting for their mothers' sarees, there are a few who are wearing their traditional dress on the wedding day. And the bride of the week is no different as she opted for a unique coloured gharchola.

What is gharchola?

Gharchola is a traditional Gujarati bridal wear. It is an ensemble that a bride wears on her wedding day and it means that she is going to enter her husband's home with a lot of blessings and good wishes. It is originated from the regions of Khambhat, Gujarat. Gharcholas are made of bright colours of red, green, pink and yellow. It can be easily classified with its grid pattern.

The bride donned a unique-coloured gharchola!

The bride of the week, Mallika Arora left our jaws dropped by opting for a gorgeous gharchola for her pre-wedding festivity. She had picked a green-coloured lehenga skirt with grid patterns, featuring — elephants, horses and all the auspicious motifs. She had styled it with puffed-sleeves with beads on its choli in velvet, and a pink-hued heavily-embroidered dupatta.

The bride had accessorised her look with a choker neckpiece, matching jhoomar earrings and sheeshpatti that accentuated her look. Subtle makeup with highlighted cheeks, perfectly lined eyes and pink lips and a small bindi had completed her look.

The bride donned a mirror-work red lehenga with unique silver jewellery

The bride had donned a bright red-coloured lehenga with golden lotus embroidered on the lehenga skirt. It also featured pretty mirror work border and the bride looked nothing less than a princess. However, it was her wedding jewellery that left us stunned. She had donned an open-setting big diamond neckpiece with a dash of red, matching jhoomar earrings, a nath and a minimal sheeshpatti.
