While the series recently returned with a third season, the actor chose his best moment as ‘Guddu’.

In a recent interaction with Koimoi, Ali Fazal reflected on the trajectory of his character, ‘Guddu’ in the series, Mirzapur, over the three seasons that it has covered. He remarked that the character, especially if the past two seasons, has become more strategic and mature. Ali highlighted that 'Guddu bhaiya' ended up using equally his intellect and muscle power. In his words:

“Over the past two seasons, Guddu Pandit has undergone a remarkable transformation. Guddu has evolved into a more strategic and mature leader, using his intellect as much as his brawn. His ability to think on his feet and adapt to changing situations has become his defining trait this season.”

Moving on with the retrospection, Ali Fazal talked about his favourite moments as a performer, while shooting the scenes as ‘Guddu Bhaiya’. He talked about the jail sequence in the third instalment of the series, where the character revealed a deep and vulnerable side to himself. Ali mentioned:

“The coolest sequence we’ve shot is the jail sequence, where Guddu truly comes into his own, revealing a deeply vulnerable side to himself. It leaves you wondering what lies ahead for him.”

Ali spills beans on what fans can expect from the scope of his character in the new season

Towards the end of the interaction, Ali Fazal spilled beans on what the fans of his iconic character, ‘Guddu Bhaiya’ can expect in the latest and third season of Mirzapur franchise. The actor highlighted loving the combat and action sequences this time, and revealed how for the first time-ever, the series will showcase a special stint of hand-to-hand combat.

When Ali Fazal revealed being unsure of Mirzapur’s success initially

Previously, during a conversation with India Today, Ali Fazal revealed how he was quite apprehensive initially, about the success of Mirzapur. However, after the first season came out, he couldn’t fathom the amount of success and love it got as its immediate response. Ali further said:

“When it (Mirzapur) first came out, I never knew it would get this famous. But, I knew that this form of storytelling would work, and I think it was one of those few shows with such a plotline. Because I had seen it in the West and have seen it work, hence, I was pretty sure that if the story is done right, there’s going to be an audience for it because then it was a different medium that is catching up.”
