While hair spas are deeply relaxing, it is no secret that they are expensive. But wait; don’t let that thought get you down! Hair spas are expensive, but there are ways of dealing with this problem. For starters, getting a hair spa done right at home! Don’t believe it’s possible? Well, keep scrolling and read about the 5 easy steps that enable you to give yourself a relaxing hair spa at home.

#1. Massage your scalp

You do not need any of those fancy oils that they use at the salon. You can use warm coconut oil or even olive oil. Once you have warmed up the oil, massage it into your scalp, gently. This kind of oil massage helps boost hair growth, while also keeping the scalp healthy.

#2. Steam your hair

Wondering how you are going to steam your hair without a machine? Seriously, you do not need one! All you need is a big towel and some warm water. Dip the towel inside the warm water, squeeze out the excess and then wrap the warm towel around your head. By doing this, the oil can penetrate into the scalp and reach the roots more thoroughly. Leave the towel on for 6-8 minutes.

#3. Wash it with a mild shampoo

Using a mild shampoo, preferably something that is paraben-free, wash your hair. Remember; do not use warm or hot water to do this as it can damage the roots of the hair. So, wash your hair using only cold water.

#4. Condition your hair

Conditioning is just as important as shampooing, perhaps more so. Use your conditioner on just the hair strands. Remember not to massage it into the scalp, since it often leads to hair fall. Condition the hair as per usual and after about 20 minutes to half an hour, you can wash it off.

#5. Use a hair mask

A hair mask is very easy to prepare. It is also an extremely important step, as it helps the hair retain many nutrients. To do this, take a small bowl. Mix up two eggs, honey and coconut or olive oil in it. If you would like to, you can add in a mashed ripe banana. Bananas are great natural conditioners. Mix it up well and apply the mask on your hair. Leave it on for a good 20 minutes and then wash it off using a mild shampoo.
